Welcome to Year 2

School Closure Message

To all the lovely Year 2 children, I just wanted to send you all a message to say I’m thinking of you all the time and miss you all.  I want you to not worry during this time and ask your parents any questions about anything you need to know.
Make sure you are keeping yourselves very busy with lots of playing and some school work.   Try to doing some calculations in maths, spelling practise on Spelling Shed, reading on Bug Club and writing some stories.  Remember to use my favourite word – because!
Try not to go on your tablets or devices for long periods of time, just as a treat! Pirate Pete will still want to know how good you’ve all been and will be choosing lots of Stars of the Day once we are back together.  I’m sure he will let you all have some treasure from the prize box!
Keep saying your prayers – remember what we kept saying in class, we need to say lots more prayers in Lent.
Love to you all, Mrs Broughton

Welcome to our Wonderful Year 2

We welcomed a forest school teacher to our Year 2 class to teach us all about the Great Fire of London.  In the morning, we created our own model London, including St. Paul’s Cathedral.  In the afternoon, we made London outside.  Our forest teacher set light to it all and we watched how it would have burned!  We learnt how it spread so quickly and the consequences it had for London.

History – The Great Fire of London

We have enjoyed our history topic of The Great Fire of London – we know so much now!  Ask us some questions anytime!

Our Class Novel – Pumpkin Soup

In English we have been using the story ‘Pumpkin Soup’ to help with our reading and writing skills – so we made our own pumpkin soup.  Delicious!
