Welcome to Year 2
My name is Mrs Hough and I am Miss Holtby. We hope you had a
wonderful holiday and are ready for a busy and exciting year ahead.
We are delighted to be teaching Y2 next academic year. Mrs Hough
will teach on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesday mornings, while Miss Holtby
will teach on Wednesday afternoons, Thursdays and Fridays.
Miss Holtby, who is looking forward to meeting you all and to getting to know you through class
discussions and group activities, will be returning from her maternity leave in late October. Until then,
Mrs Oxley will step in, providing outstanding teaching and learning.
We all look forward to the year ahead. In Y2, we will have a positive and resilient approach to learning.
We will work hard to achieve our full potential and enjoy learning, sharing and helping each other to
succeed. We will welcome everyone, encourage all to love and care, and above all respect others.
Supporting your child’s learning in Y2 will be Mrs C Phillips, a long-standing and very committed
member of our support staff, with 15 years of experience working with children, and Miss Stead, who
has worked in the school for almost 20 years and knows all the children really well. They will provide
class support to those children who may need further explanations and teaching; lead interventions
and group work for children with SEND; and support children at playtimes and lunch times.

Your Class Teacher is Miss Kerrigan.
Supporting Miss Kerrigan in class is Miss Ali.
W/E 10.10.25: Like the other classes, #Year2 were visited by Greg from The Mark 10 Mission to show us ways that we could worship God through prayer and Liturgy of the Word. They listened to his readings from the gospels and were inspired by his talks.

In Year 2, all the children have a Google Classroom username and password. The children also have subscriptions to:

All passwords have been stuck in your child’s reading record.

What is Google Classroom?
Google Classroom is a collaboration tool for teachers and pupils. Mrs Shaw has created an online classroom and invited your child to the class. As well as using Google Classroom to complete tasks within school – we will create and assign homework tasks via Google Classroom too! Your child has their own username and password – they can access Google Classroom via the internet on any device.
Sign in for the first time
1. Go to classroom.google.com and click Go to Classroom
2. Enter the email address for your Classroom account and click Next
3.Enter your password and click Next.
4. If there is a welcome message, review it and click Accept.
5. If you’re using a G Suite for Education account, click I’m A Student or I’m A Teacher.
Note: Users with personal Google Accounts won’t see this option.
6. Click Get Started.
